I found a playground in the morning and spent a lot of time on the swings. I haven’t been on swings in ages – and these are really good ones – the kind where you can go really high without feeling the whole thing might tip over. I just swung and looked out at the scenery and thought about the course of my life and how I came to be in this place at this time. It seems so random, but is anything in life, is any life at all, not random when you really think of it. Each event that could have been or is leading to a new path. How many twists and turns could lead to something different.
In the afternoon the staff had Barbeque and played volleyball. There was also sidewalk chalk and I did a large rendition of Van Gogh’s Starry Night – it turned out good. I also tried to do Sunflowers after the picture in the National Gallery in London and Van Gogh’s self portrait – but they didn’t look so hot, so I settled by outlining everything blue.
